Key Takeaways

Types of Dentures Available

At Dawson Dental, understanding the different types of dentures available is crucial to finding the perfect fit for your dental needs. Complete dentures are ideal for patients who have lost all their teeth, while partial dentures are designed for those who still have some natural teeth remaining. Additionally, implant-supported dentures offer increased stability and support by being anchored to dental implants. Each type is tailored to provide comfort, functionality, and a natural appearance.

With a focus on using state-of-the-art technology and materials, Dawson Dental ensures that each set of dentures not only fits well but also enhances the overall quality of life for their patients. Denture Care and Maintenance

At Dawson Dental, understanding the essentials of denture maintenance is key to ensuring the longevity and comfort of your dental prosthetics. Proper care not only helps in preserving the appearance and functionality of dentures but also supports overall oral health. Dr. Brandon Dawson emphasizes the importance of regular cleaning to prevent the build-up of food particles and plaque, which can lead to stains and odors. It’s recommended to use a soft-bristled brush and non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for artificial teeth to avoid scratching delicate surfaces.

Furthermore, Dawson Dental advises keeping artificial teeth moist when not in use to prevent them from drying out and losing their shape. Soaking them overnight in a suitable denture solution can help maintain their form and hygiene. Regular check-ups are also crucial; these allow for adjustments and repairs that may be needed over time due to normal wear or changes in the mouth’s structure. Following these guidelines, patients can enjoy a comfortable and confident smile with their well-maintained dentures.

Benefits of Choosing Artificial Teeth

At Dawson Dental, understanding the advantages of opting for artificial teeth can significantly impact your decision-making when replacing missing teeth. Dentures offer a cost-effective solution, often being more affordable than other dental restoration methods such as implants. They are designed to be removable, making them easy to clean and maintain. Additionally, modern dentures are highly aesthetic and customized to match the natural appearance of your gums and teeth, enhancing function and boosting confidence in your smile.

Dr. Brandon Dawson at Dawson Dental specializes in creating comfortable and natural-looking dentures that restore the ability to eat and speak more effectively. Choosing artificial teeth can also help support facial muscles and structure, preventing the facial sagging that often occurs with tooth loss. With the expertise available at Dawson Dental, patients receive personalized care that ensures their artificial teeth fit perfectly, providing comfort and improving overall quality of life.

Denture Fitting Process

At Dawson Dental, the journey to a perfect smile with dentures is meticulously crafted to meet individual needs. The denture fitting process begins with a detailed consultation at our office, where Dr. Brandon Dawson evaluates the specific dental requirements and discusses the various types of artificial teeth available. Using state-of-the-art technology, precise measurements and impressions of the mouth are taken to ensure that the artificial teeth fit comfortably and mimic the natural appearance of real teeth.

Following the initial consultation and measurement phase, the next step involves carefully creating and adjusting the dentures. This process ensures that each set is tailored for optimal comfort and functionality. Patients are invited for a fitting session where adjustments are made to guarantee a perfect fit. Regular follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor the adaptation process and make any necessary modifications. For more information or to schedule a consultation, visit Peoria Dentist.

Common Denture Problems

Denture wearers often experience various issues affecting their comfort and oral health. One of the most common problems is ill-fitting dentures, which can lead to sore spots, discomfort, and difficulty eating or speaking. Over time, as the jawbone changes shape, artificial teeth may become loose, necessitating adjustments or replacements. Additionally, improper care can result in a buildup of bacteria, leading to bad breath and gum infections. Regular check-ups with a dental professional are crucial to ensure dentures’ proper fit and function.

Another frequent issue faced by those with artificial teeth is the wear and tear of the prosthetic teeth. This can affect the aesthetics of the smile and the efficiency of chewing. Handling dentures carefully and following recommended cleaning procedures to extend their lifespan is important. If experiencing persistent discomfort or other complications, consulting with a dentist is advised to explore solutions such as relining or replacing the dentures. Regular dental visits ensure your artificial teeth remain a comfortable and functional solution for missing teeth.

What Our Amazing Patients Have To Say

Less than a year ago, I had a crown replaced by Dr. Dawson. All was well until recently. It just didn't feel right. He took x-rays and then without any hesitation offered to replace it at no charge. This was successfully completed yesterday. Thank you, Dr. Dawson. Once again... all is well. I was originally referred to this dental office about seven years ago by a friend, but I live about seven miles away. Over the years, I've had my teeth cleaned here every six months along with other needs. I always notice all the other dental offices while driving to this office. Two years ago, I was apprehensive with the change of leadership that took place and considered some of those closer options. I'm not going anywhere else though, because Dr. Dawson and the team continue to offer great service.

I have been going to the dental for this dentist for about 10+ years. I have had nothing but excellent experience. Lis has been an excellent asset to the company without her help I would’ve left when Dr. Ostler left but because of Liz I stayed and the service is always the best I highly recommend Dr. Dawson they work with you they have knowledge and they know what they’re doing if you have any information, call Lis, she has all the answers

My previous dentist retired and Dawson Dental took over; I’ve been with them a little over a year and before today only had twice a year cleanings done; all three cleanings that I had done were excellent; today I had to get three fillings with two on one side and one on the other. Never felt the shots and never had any pain through the entire process. In and out in less than an hour. My wife or I also never have felt pressured to have additional dental work done. Highly recommend Dawson Dental

It usually takes a few weeks to adjust to new artificial teeth, as your mouth learns to hold them in place and you become accustomed to eating and speaking with them.

Can I sleep with my artificial teeth in?

It is generally recommended to remove artificial teeth at night to allow your gum tissues to rest and to maintain good oral hygiene.

How often should dentures be replaced?

Dentures should be replaced every 5 to 7 years due to natural wear and changes in your gums and jaw structure.
