Key Takeaways

Types of Dental Bridges

At Dawson Dental, understanding the different types of dental bridges is crucial to determining the best solution for your dental needs. Dental bridges are used to replace missing teeth, and they come in several forms, including traditional fixed bridges, cantilever bridges, Maryland bonded bridges, and implant-supported bridges. Each type has its own advantages and is selected based on the location of the missing tooth or teeth, the health of the adjacent teeth, and the patient’s overall dental health.

Dental Bridges in Peoria are expertly provided by Dawson Dental, where Dr. Brandon Dawson utilizes state-of-the-art technology and materials to ensure the best outcomes for patients. Traditional fixed bridges are the most common and consist of one or more fake teeth held in place by dental crowns cemented onto the adjacent teeth. Cantilever bridges are used when there are adjacent teeth on only one side of the missing tooth or teeth, while Maryland bonded bridges use metal or porcelain bands to bind a fake tooth to the adjacent teeth. Implant-supported bridges offer a durable and stable alternative, as they are anchored directly to the jawbone with dental implants.

Benefits of Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are a proven solution for restoring your smile if you’re missing one or more teeth. At Dawson Dental, the focus is on providing a seamless, natural-looking replacement that enhances your oral functionality and aesthetic appeal. Dental bridges help maintain the shape of your face, alleviate stress on your bite, and prevent remaining teeth from shifting, which could lead to further dental complications. By opting for a dental bridge, patients can enjoy a restored ability to chew and speak properly, boosting overall quality of life.

Furthermore, Dawson Dental utilizes cutting-edge technology to ensure that each dental bridge is crafted to perfection, offering durability and comfort. Under the expert care at Dawson Dental, patients receive personalized treatment plans designed to match their specific dental needs. Dental bridges are typically recommended for patients who have one or more missing teeth and are seeking a durable, long-term replacement. The procedure involves creating a bridge that is anchored onto the adjacent teeth or implants, effectively filling the gap. At Dawson Dental, every step from the initial consultation to the final placement is handled with utmost care, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive support throughout their treatment journey. With state-of-the-art technology and a commitment to patient satisfaction, Dawson Dental stands as a leading choice for those looking to enhance their oral health and regain a seamless smile.

Dental Bridge Maintenance

Maintaining your dental bridge is crucial for ensuring its longevity and functionality. At Dawson Dental, the focus is on providing comprehensive care to help patients keep their bridges in excellent condition. Regular cleaning and check-ups are essential, as food particles and bacteria can accumulate in hard-to-reach areas around the bridge, leading to potential issues such as decay and gum disease. Dr. Brandon Dawson recommends a routine that includes special flossing techniques and the use of an antibacterial mouthwash to preserve the health of your dental bridge and surrounding teeth.

For those looking for expert advice on dental bridge maintenance, visiting a trusted Peoria Dentist is a step in the right direction. Dr. Brandon Dawson at Dawson Dental utilizes state-of-the-art technology and tailored care plans to ensure that each patient achieves optimal oral health. By adhering to a personalized maintenance schedule and attending regular dental appointments, patients can enjoy a functional and aesthetically pleasing dental bridge for years to come.

Dental Bridge Longevity

Dental bridges are a popular and effective solution for replacing missing teeth, offering both functional and aesthetic benefits. The longevity of a dental bridge can significantly vary depending on several factors including the quality of materials used, the precision of the fitting, and most importantly, the ongoing care and maintenance practices. Typically, with proper care, dental bridges can last anywhere from 5 to 15 years or more. Regular check-ups and cleanings at the dental office are crucial to extend the lifespan of a bridge, as these appointments allow for early detection and management of potential issues.

Maintaining optimal oral hygiene is essential for preserving the integrity of dental bridges. This includes routine brushing and flossing to prevent the build-up of plaque and tartar, which can lead to gum disease and subsequently affect the supporting teeth. Additionally, it’s advisable to avoid hard foods that might compromise the structure of the bridge. Regular consultations will ensure that any adjustments needed to maintain the structural integrity and functionality of the dental bridge are made timely, thereby enhancing its durability and effectiveness in restoring a confident smile.

What Our Amazing Patients Have To Say

Less than a year ago, I had a crown replaced by Dr. Dawson. All was well until recently. It just didn't feel right. He took x-rays and then without any hesitation offered to replace it at no charge. This was successfully completed yesterday. Thank you, Dr. Dawson. Once again... all is well. I was originally referred to this dental office about seven years ago by a friend, but I live about seven miles away. Over the years, I've had my teeth cleaned here every six months along with other needs. I always notice all the other dental offices while driving to this office. Two years ago, I was apprehensive with the change of leadership that took place and considered some of those closer options. I'm not going anywhere else though, because Dr. Dawson and the team continue to offer great service.

My previous dentist retired and Dawson Dental took over; I’ve been with them a little over a year and before today only had twice a year cleanings done; all three cleanings that I had done were excellent; today I had to get three fillings with two on one side and one on the other. Never felt the shots and never had any pain through the entire process. In and out in less than an hour. My wife or I also never have felt pressured to have additional dental work done. Highly recommend Dawson Dental
